THE ROLE OF MATHS IN WALES, AND THE ROLE OF WALES IN MATHS
Wales may well be the ‘land of song’ but may not be fully recognised historically as a ‘land of science and mathematics’ as well. The Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion has long since recognised this tension. T. Iorwerth Jones published ‘The Contribution of Welshmen to Science’ in The Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion1 in 1934 in an effort to establish a balance. In this article we gather together some of the more recent developments that continue to redress matters.
