Martin Shipton will evaluate the short life and career of Western Mail journalist Gareth Jones (1905-1935), focussing on his exposure of the man-made famine that killed four million Ukrainians and drawing historical parallels with the current war between Russia and Ukraine. 
 
Martin Shipton is Associate Editor of Nation Cymru. Previously he was political editor-at-large of the Western Mail and before that the paper’s long-serving chief reporter. He is the author of three books including Mr Jones: The Life and Death of Gareth Jones.
