THE COUNTRY HOUSE IN WALES: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE

Wales is dotted with fine country houses, many still in active occupation, others not, and far too many just a memory after demolition in the early 20th century. Bur how much do we know about these sometimes splendid properties and their surrounding estates, and, just as importantly, the role they played in Welsh community life from mediaeval times onwards?

Dr Shaun Evans, Welsh history lecturer at Bangor University and director of the Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates will cast light on the current state of the Welsh country house and prospects for the future.
