
Catherine Emmerich (née Evans) is a native Welsh speaker and was born and raised in Machynlleth, Mid Wales. She studied at Cardiff University where she gained a PhD in Chemistry. Following a few years in research and teaching roles at The University of Illinois USA, The National Research Council of Italy, and Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, she embarked on a career in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily with Bristol-Myers Squibb. She worked in various roles across Clinical Development, Sales and Training functions to support marketed and pipeline high-cost drugs in specialised medical fields.
She has contributed to various London Welsh organisations. Catherine has organised The Montgomeryshire Society’s Annual Competitions for Schools and Further Education since 2005. Whilst her children attended The London Welsh School, Catherine chaired the ‘Cinio Haf’ organising committee to deliver a series of successful dinners and auctions to raise funds for the school.
