Wales Matters: A higher education system in Wales or for Wales? The crisis facing Welsh universities.
Event Navigation

The financial and other challenges facing universities in Wales, as in the UK more generally, have been widely reported. The solutions are more difficult to determine and are the subject of extensive discussion. In this session of Wales Matters, Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, who has been a notable contributor to the debate over higher education in Wales on the BBC, ITV and S4C, online, and through his for the Daily Post and Western Mail, will offer some thoughts, for discussion, on the options.
Dylan Jones-Evans has held senior positions in several universities including Cardiff, Bangor, UWE Bristol and South Wales and is Visiting Professor at Turku University and Aston University. He is well-known as a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship in the Welsh economy and as the co-founder of the IDEAS community, home of the UK Fast Growth Index, the UK Startup Awards, and the Wales Start-up Awards among others. He is currently developing a new enterprise centre at Bodlondeb, Conwy to support young people into business.
The event will offer you the opportunity to bring your own insights on this challenging period in Welsh higher education.
