SYNOPSIS

Cai Parry-Jones‘s book  “The Jews of Wales- A History” is a key study of the presence of Jews in Wales over the centuries starting from the 13th century. However, as Parry-Jones shows, there is little mention of Jews in Wales until Jewish communities were first recorded in the 18th Century with major settlement dating from the 19th century. In this introductory talk, Dr Parry-Jones provides an overview of this relatively unknown aspect of our nation’s history, as well as answers to some of the most oft-asked questions surrounding the topic.
