Sioned Webb

Sioned Webb was born in Bala, Gwynedd, and is steeped in the rich cultural traditions of Wales. She graduated in Music (BMus and MA) at the University of Wales, Bangor, when the late William Mathias was Professor.

She later studied the art of accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music, London, before embarking on a free-lance career in music. Sioned eventually settled in a teaching career and was Head of Music at Ysgol Tryfan, Bangor for several years. She has also worked as a free-lance musician, concentrating mainly on teaching and accompaniment at Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias at Galeri, Caernarfon.

She is very well-known as adjudicator, lecturer and composer, and appears regularly on radio and television in Wales. She is the author of several educational books - the latest being Music of the Twentieth Century.
