Dr Eryn M. White
Dr Eryn M. White is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History and Welsh History at Aberystwyth University. She is interested in Early Modern Welsh History in general, with special research interests in religion, education, women and society in 18th-century Wales.
She is the author of 'Praidd Bach y Bugail Mawr': Seiadau Methodistaidd De-orllewin Cymru (1995) and has contributed to the first volume of the Social History of the Welsh Language. She is also on the editorial board of the University of Wales Press' series, Studies in Welsh History.
Her most recent publication is Women, Religion and Education in Eighteenth-Century Wales in Women and Gender in Early Modern Wales, eds M. Roberts and S. Clarke (University of Wales Press, 2000). Her current work concentrates on religion, education and literacy in 18th-century Wales and she has recently given papers at the North American Association for Welsh Culture and History conference at Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and at the Popular Culture and Religion conference at Newcastle.
